Replacing windows with minor damage is always something which is worth avoiding, as windows can be quite expensive, particularly if the windows in question have to be bespoke designed or are double glazing, so options to repair damaged windows are invaluable to home owners.
The most widely used, well known and cheap method for repairing broken glass is what is also used for car windscreens. This is basically a translucent filler which just about makes cracks invisible by filling the small gaps and making it structurally sound again so the damage doesn’t progress. The cost of the window treatment is also very small, so it could save you thousands of pounds in a particularly costly window. Unfortunately, this method only works for certain types of glass and only for small damage even then.
Window exchange is another option for broken or damage windows, as even broken glass can still be recycled, and therefore exchanging them for fully working window panes can save you money.
