Fill a tub with hot water and add just a squirt of detergent. To help mix things up, add just a little vinegar, and if you have it, olive oil. Dip a regular washing up sponge into the solution. Squeezing out excessive water, lightly wipe the wood with the abrasive side of the sponge. To make sure that you protect your floor, lay some protective covering down, or if you don’t have any, old newspaper will of course do. Remember to work in the same direction as the grain, do this quickly and pay attention to any drops which will run down the door. With a cloth, wipe the entirety of the door, and as before, move to the direction of the grain. If you want to bring out the natural colours of your door, fill a second bowl with warm water and add around 15 ml of olive oil per 4 litres. Take a clean cloth and wipe the entirety of the door with the cloth.
