Choosing Conservatory Blinds
Fitting blinds in a conservatory may be done for a number of reasons:
- To keep the room cool in Summer
- To conserve heat during the colder months of the year
- For privacy
However, there are a number of factors to consider and it is worth going to a reputable company which specialises in made-to-measure conservatory blinds as they will have experience in asking the right questions and then making sure that the product is suitable for you and your home.
If your conservatory is south facing then there are blinds which offer a higher shade factor. Certain fabrics allow more light through than others.
For north facing or shady conservatories, you may want to consider buying blinds in warmer colours, made from fabrics with improved thermal properties.
If like most people, you value your privacy, then you may find blinds which can be positioned anywhere on the window ideal. For instance, blinds which cover the lower part of a window whilst still allowing light to come through from the top.
Will you require blinds for the roof? In that case, you may wish to consider motorised blinds which can be operated by remote control.
Finally, if the main function of your conservatory is for use as a children’s playroom, then for safety reasons, do make sure you fit cordless blinds.
